South Carolina man faces $356,000 fraud case

If convicted of a crime, one faces many consequences. Many sentences include hefty fines and jail time. Furthermore, a conviction on your record may affect your job prospects or your reputation in your local community. For this reason, if you are facing criminal charges, it is imperative that you know what to expect. A local story discusses a man who has been charged with two counts of breach of trust and one count of forgery. This man may experience many of these consequences if he is found guilty of these crimes.

According to reports, the suspect sold membership interests in a corporation worth approximately $360,000. The story says that the money was supposed to be used to develop a North Augusta subdivision called Mossy Oak. Nevertheless, the man allegedly used the money for personal reasons.

So far, the South Carolina Securities Commissioner has ordered the man to pay a $10,000 fine. Nevertheless, if the man is convicted of the fraudulent crimes, the repercussions will probably affect the rest of his life.

Because the man faces such flagrant charges, he will probably need adequate legal representation to ensure that his rights are honored and protected. Remember, in the criminal justice system, one is innocent until proving guilty. Furthermore, the prosecution has the burden of proof. Nevertheless, criminal law can be extremely complex and confusing. Therefore, if you are facing criminal allegations, you may want to retain an attorney. He or she can help navigate you through the intricacies of criminal law.
