Four people arrested for drug manufacturing in South Carolina

South Carolina police arrested four people they believe were engaged in the manufacture of methamphetamine. The arrest was made not far from Columbia, South Carolina. Reportedly, the police originally came to the scene after a possible burglary. The homeowner reported to the police that several people were in the home who did not live there and who should not have been there.

After detaining the people they found in the house, police searched the residence and found materials used to manufacture methamphetamine. The four suspects were each cited with drug charges, including possession with the intent to sell methamphetamine or manufacturing methamphetamine. Other charges are pending.

Drugs are often associated with criminal activity and behavioral issues, which is why no drug crime is tolerated in South Carolina. Residents should understand that the state has strict rules and harsh penalties against illegal drug activities. In this case, drug manufacturing is a serious charge and there is a strong possibility of a jail sentence.

In this case, it is not clear who owns the paraphernalia that the police found and it is also not clear if any or all of the suspects were involved in drug distribution or manufacturing. It is possible that some of the people who were arrested were not really involved.

Taking a defendant's side in court can be very difficult and stressful at times. Because of the weight of the charges and possible serious consequences, the defendant may seek the help of an attorney. An experienced criminal defense attorney will know how to challenge the prosecution's evidence or to negotiate reduced charges if necessary.
